Providing Relief After the 2009 Tsunami

Following the devastating tsunami that struck eastern Samoa in 2009, CERF responded with immediate relief efforts to help families impacted by the disaster.

The tsunami claimed nearly 200 lives and caused widespread destruction across coastal communities, leaving many families in urgent need of basic necessities and support.

Emergency Community Support

In partnership with the Red Cross, CERF donated clothing and shoes to families affected by the tragedy, helping provide comfort and essential supplies during a time of crisis.

These efforts reflected CERF’s commitment to standing alongside Samoan communities during times of hardship and helping families begin the process of recovery and healing.
